Birth Preparation

At Coast Life Midwifery we believe  knowledge is a powerful tool enabling women to gain the confidence to make informed decisions and choices about their childbirth experience and care.

Coast Life Midwifery offers intimate birth preparation group sessions that are fun, interactive and a great way to gain new knowledge and skills, while providing the opportunity to meet other parents to be. We also invite our mums back to share their birth story.

These personalised groups explore topics such as the normal hormones of birth, encouraging baby into a good position for birth, signs of normal labour, pre-labour work, active labour, labour & birth, informed decision making and strategies to work through when in labour. These sessions also cover the important first few minutes of skin-to-skin with mum, delayed cord clamping and the first 24hrs with your baby, breast feeding, normal newborn behaviours and anything else that you need to know.

Contact our lovely Practice Manager for more information. Coast Life Midwifery also offers a Care and Connections model of care which includes a group session when you come for your antenatal check with your  midwives. During this session you will also have the opportunity to discuss topics relevant to where you are in your pregnancy. Speak with one of our midwives for more information.
